GSO runs multilayered and cost-effective outreach programs to spread awareness and increase the use of public benefits, especially the state and federal Earned Income Tax Credits (EITCs), and promotes free tax preparation services for low-income workers.
GSO’s CalEITC4Me program uses innovative digital outreach, grassroots organizing, media, and mobile messaging tactics. Since the Cal EITC’s inception in 2016, we’ve built a dynamic coalition to make working people aware of the EITCs and other public benefits to lift low-income working California families out of poverty. CalEITC4Me has helped more than 4 million low-income California households claim the federal and Cal EITC, putting $4 billion back in their pockets.
