SAN FRANCISCO — Today, Golden State Opportunity President Amy Everitt released the following statement: 

“Governor Gavin Newsom’s Golden State Stimulus will reach California’s more than 3.8 million Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) recipients when they need cash the most. This stimulus, along with including the federal EITC look-back for 2020 tax filing, will help low-income families weather this incredibly difficult time. Cash will also go to immigrants who are doing so much to help us all through this pandemic and yet are the most vulnerable among us.

We applaud Governor Newsom for acting quickly and decisively in the face of sufficient federal action to support struggling Americans. GSO urges policymakers in Sacramento to support this effort and pass a bill as quickly as possible. Low-wage workers have waited long enough for this financial relief.”
